When we released Falcon 3 in March, we were already looking ahead to Falcon 4’s release in the future, little did we know that it would happen in just 3 months time. I know, rather quick! When we were planning for Falcon 4, we were using a plugin for Dark Mode before, then we saw another plugin where users can choose their theme. So, we put our heads together and started developing themes for your viewing pleasure! More will come in the future, too! So, long story short, Falcon 4 focused on the start of themes.
Falcon 5’s plan? We’re trying to step away from WordPress’s control panel and having full customization done through our site and theme. This includes setting up the site and also different user preferences … both for our regular members, and some exclusive features for our VIP members! The real fun is in the beginning where we start programming it, and the visual stuff won’t probably happen until at least August. We will be working on some other things as well and we will be rolling out those features gradually.
Don’t forget, you can start seeing our early work with our Betachannel theme at any time!
As promised, we have added that special line of code needed in order for you to choose between the regular Team Falcon site and the new Beta site. And, after some further testing, we have determined the following:
Light, Dark* & Beta themes will be free for all members of Team Falcon
New themes beyond these 3 will be exclusive to VIP members
As a reminder, Team Falcon VIP is just $20 a year and will help us with new projects! And, our Dark (*) theme will be available later this year.
Last week, we were ready to release an update, dubbed Version 3.2. And, shortly after we released it, we ran into some minor issues that made us have to go back and return to Version 3.1. We fixed the bugs, but we left out the new features, and we called it Version 3.1.1. Now, 3.1.1’s update gave us a chance to start fresh with our previous issues and work our way back up. When we were able to get everything to work flawlessly, we called it Version 3.5. Then, an idea hit. Why not have 3.5 just have 1 thing … one small, yet huge thing? While Version 3.5 only got half of the Falcon 4 header, it also gained the ability to change themes. Falcon 4’s plan is to focus on those themes, but we want to test that even further with the relaunch of our Beta program.
Ladies & Gentlemen, we’re happy to announce Falcon 3.5! Right now, we are actively testing new features to make sure that it’s ready for the public! While minor, it’s still huge, and that’s also the plan for Falcon 4, and we’ll talk about that when we get there. But, on the top right of the page, you will see a new header area with your username, what theme you have selected, and what your membership plan is. With the new themes that we have planned later, we called our main theme Light. When we release Falcon 4, our first official new theme will be called Black. And, it will basically correct all of the color issues that you see with the current Dark Mode WP Plugin. All of our color testing will be done off-site.
So, how does it all work? Well:
Theme Pick a theme to view Team Falcon in. There’s only 2 to pick from right now (Light & Beta). The “Light” theme represents what you know today, and the new Beta theme represents the future. We’ve already begun with new changes so you have something to check out! We’re also highlighting the changes in the official Changelog for Falcon 4 already. To change your theme, click the theme title that you have selected right now (which is most likely “Light”), then you will be taken to a new Display Options page where you can change your theme.
Membership Because we’re working hard at making our VIP program useful, we had to modify our header so we can show you what user class you’re part of. And, if I said I didn’t need your money to help pay for the technology advancements to make Team Falcon beyond amazing, then I’d be lying. However, my yearly rate price has dropped from $50 to $20 because of some plugin troubles that caused me to change my approach.
